Here are the four steps to realizing your own perfect piece of jewelry…It’s that easy!

Step 1: Hand-Drawn Sketch

First,we discuss your piece and work to clarify your vision. This process might include reviewing sketches and samples, exploring photos and prepare hand-drawn and computer drawings of your ideal engagement ring, necklace, bracelet or earrings. We explore whether the style is classical or modern, plain or baroque and work to finalize a perfect hand-drawn realization of your dream piece of jewelry. We will move to Step 2 only when you are completely satisfied with the final hand-drawn sketch.

Step 2: Computer Rendering

Next, our gifted computer-aided design (CAD) department gets to work, creating a custom layout to the exact specifications of your sketch. This will result in a unique CAD rendering of your design. We will sit down together to review every aspect of the computer drawing and ensure it matches your original concept and expectations. Once you are satisfied, we will move into the final and most exciting stage — production!

Step 3: Build a wax model

Once we have an approved CAD design, we proceed to build a wax model. This is done on very sophisticated equipment that is somewhat like an everyday printer, except that instead of ink, the machine prints layer upon of layer of wax, until the finished model is complete. These layers of wax are very thin, and it takes thousands of layers to result in a completely finished model. The wax printer, as it is called, can take up to 12 hours to build wax model. It depends on how complicated the design is. The equipment is also very technologically advanced and costly. At Alexa Rose Diamond we have been using this equipment since 2009.

Step 4: Finished Jewelry

The wax model is then sent to the next department where it is cast in gold or platinum. Our stone selecting team carefully selects every diamond and gemstone, making sure that each stone is in no way damaged and is a perfect fit. Each stone is set by hand, and the prongs are finally tipped, to complete the ring. Your custom design item is hand polished, rhodium plated, and hand finished before being passed to quality control where is to carefully inspected for any flaws, scratches and other quality issues. Only when it has been signed off as passing QC, do we deliver your finished piece of jewelry, ensuring a perfectly made piece of jewelry, that is exclusively made to your own design!
